2003 Season Archive

New blood brings renewed vigor. The 2003 season brought new competitive members into the league, and the difference was noticed immediately. The rule system remained intact, although the option to franchise an additional player by forfeiting your first round draft pick was introduced. The new members and the rule change helped to improve the quality of the league.

As with almost every season, some teams changed ownership. Josh, waiting patiently for the fate of Rob's team, was the first new member added to the league, taking over Rob's old team and establishing the Marietta Malice. Dale was able to claim Aaron's team and reform them into the Liquor Legion. Both teams were very strong throughout the season and into the postseason.

The Yankee division was able to hold onto the title for another season. The Fightin' Plankton (the returning Superbowl champions) were able to reach the playoffs again, but they fell quickly to the upstart Marietta Malice. Ultimately, the Liquor Legion was able to knock out the Malice and went on to meet The Bitchmonkeys in the Superbowl. The Bitchmonkeys, even with the mighty Priest Holmes, were unable to overcome the onslaught from the Liquor Legion, and so the trophy remained in the hands of the Yankee division.
